Glass Floral Art

aka: Disrupted Glass Art

Handcrafted cut and broken glass.

Capturing light, simplicity of form, joy and curiosity.

Man wearing glasses and a black apron, smiling in a room with shelves and various objects in the background.

About The Artist

Hello, hello! My name is Tracy Summers and I am a Glass Artist.

Professionally, I am a Registered Nurse. Having been challenged in every aspect of Nursing I am grateful to have discovered my professional passions: Psychiatric Nursing and Hospice Care.

For balance and solace in my Nursing Career I discovered the tremendous importance of having a creative outlet. Fortunately, I was able to find my peace and joy in Glass Art.

I believe my art simulates happiness and curiosity. I appreciate the benefits of my craft and I hope I can provide the viewer with a degree of wonder, awe and beauty.

Glass - Discovery, Deconstruction and Reconstruction.

Recycled Glass and Windows.

My work first started with repurposing glass I found in thrift stores, yard sales or flea markets. I recycle old picture frames and window frames; using glass that is either whole or glass which I cut or break (plates, bowls, glasses, vases). I create something new out of something old and ordinary. Like any artist, I am drawn to abstract and image-similar work. I am especially fond of creating florals or garden scenes. My art started with windows and picture frames which I thoroughly enjoy. You’ll see that I have branched out and added clocks to my inventory of work. I believe my projects are lighthearted, bright and joyful - these are important elements to my art, my life and my personality. I hope you enjoy what you see.
